Protect and restore the surfaces of metal,convert rust into a dense layer
XIUBIKETM rust conversion coating is the latest steel anti-corrosion technology product, which provides long-term and high-efficiency protection to the rusted and unpretreated steel surface.
GENERAL
XIUBIKETM is the latest steel anti-corrosion technology, which provides long-term and high-efficiency protection to the rusted and unpretreated steel surface. It not only significantly prolongs the service life of the anti-corrosion topcoat, but also makes the anti-corrosion coating process simpler & efficient, cost saving and environment-friendly.
The new method is based on a new chemical chelation method that converts the rust on the iron surface into a hydrophobic passivation layer. Compared with traditional systems, this anti-corrosion system provides longer protection period before re-corrosion occurs.
Application
The outer wall of petrochemical containers and pipelines (the inner walls of liquid transportation and storage are not recommended);
Ships and marine facilities (the parts below the waterline of ships are not recommended);
Vehicles and roads (railways, highways, bridges), etc.;
Factory steel frame structure.

Packaging and Storage
Packaging specification: 30KG/barrel.
Stored in a cool place at 5-35°C, avoid direct sunlight, avoid freezing, and do not store in iron containers.
Construction process
XiubikeTM is applied to the rusty iron and steel surfaces according the following steps:
1. Use a wire brush to remove loose rust and dust impurities accumulated on the metal surface;
2. Apply XiubikeTM to dry or wet metal surfaces by spraying, brushing or radial coating. The best method is to use airless spraying method to provide higher rust transfer effect. Where airless spraying cannot be used, brush coating can be used; for small parts, dip coating is recommended. The heavily rusty steel surface needs to increase the coating amount to achieve a good rust removal effect. The coating amount of the rust-transfer emulsion can be determined by checking the degree of the rust-transferring. The recommended amount of the first coating is 7-8m2/kg, and the thickness is 40 um.
3. After a few minutes, the first coat turns black. For heavily rusty surfaces, it is recommended to carry out second coating to provide maximum protection. The second coating should be applied within 10 minutes after the completion of first coating when the first coating is visually observed to be not completely black, so as to ensure that the emulsion can chemically react with the rust fully. The practice has proved that the sufficient effect of the first coating is better than that of the second coating;
4. The rust transferring emulsion layer is dried for 24 hours, and then the middle and top coats are applied. The middle and top coats can be solvent-based paints or water-based paints.
5. Like most water-based paints, XiubikeTM should not be applied below 10°C. During the drying period of the coating, the measures for protection the surface from condensation or rain should be conducted.
Tip: Some rusty surfaces do not turn black completely. This does not affect the coating performance and the reaction will continue to provide a high level of protection.
